Cookie Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit, used to remember information about you or your visit. Similar technologies — like the browser's own "local storage" — work in a comparable way, storing small amounts of information directly in your browser rather than on our servers.
What we actually use
Course progress (local storage)
When you tick off a section on one of our course pages, we save that against your browser using local storage, so your progress bar still shows correctly if you come back later. This information:
- Stays entirely on your own device — it is never sent to our servers
- Is not used to identify you personally
- Is not shared with any third party
- Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data (see below)
Google Fonts
We use Google Fonts to display the typefaces used across the site. Loading a font this way means your browser makes a request directly to Google's servers, which involves your IP address being visible to Google as part of that request — the same as loading any image or resource from an external server. Google's own documentation states that its Fonts API does not use this to build advertising profiles. We do not control Google's servers directly, so we'd encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy if you'd like more detail.
What we don't use
- No advertising cookies or ad networks
- No third-party analytics or tracking scripts
- No cross-site tracking of any kind
- No cookies from social media "share" buttons — our social links simply take you to those platforms directly
Managing or clearing this information
Since we don't use tracking cookies, there's very little to manage — but if you'd like to clear the local storage that remembers your course progress, you can do so through your browser settings (usually under "Privacy" or "Site Settings," by clearing site data for ukcareworld.com). Doing this will simply reset your progress bars back to zero.
If this changes
If we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or any other technology that changes what's described above, we will update this policy first, and where required by law, ask for your consent via an on-screen banner before anything new is activated.
